FAQs
What age is good to start learning ukulele?
We teach from age 5 and up for ukulele lessons. Although this is dependent on the student, which includes ability to participate in an activity for 30-45 minutes. We evaluate each child individually and can advise at the free trial lesson if they are able to continue or should hold off until a little older.
Do I need a ukulele to take lessons?
No, you do not need a uke initially, however we suggest getting one within the first 5 weeks. This will enable you to practise at home and bring to your lessons making progress faster. We can guide you to the right instrument.
Do I need any experience to get started?
Not at all! Most of our students are complete beginners. Our instructors will meet you exactly where you are and build from there, whether you’re 5 or 75.
How quickly can I learn to play ukulele?
This is the ultimate question and depends on many factors. With consistent practice (10 minutes daily to start), most students can play recognisable songs within 1-2 weeks. However, practice is crucial for progress–frequency matters more than duration, so daily practice is better than cramming hours at the end of the week.
