FAQs

We teach from age 5 and up for guitar lessons. Although this is dependent on the student, which includes ability to participate in an activity for 30-45 minutes. Before that age, most children struggle to properly hold even smaller guitars. We evaluate each child individually and can advise at the free trial lesson if they are able to continue or should hold off until a little older.

No, you do not need a guitar initially, however we suggest getting one within the first 5 weeks. This will enable you to practise at home and bring to your lessons making progress faster. We can guide you to the right instrument–many beginners start with acoustic guitars because the higher string tension builds hand strength, though electric guitars can be easier for younger children to play.

Not at all! Most of our guitar students are complete beginners. Our guitar instructors will meet you exactly where you are and build from there, whether
you’re 5 or 75.

This is the ultimate question and depends on many factors. With consistent practice (10 minutes daily to start), most students can play recognisable songs within 6 weeks. However, practice is crucial for progress–frequency matters more than duration, so daily practice is better than cramming hours at the end of the week.
